how it works: self finishing needlepoint ruffle pillows
Each pillow includes a Velcro insert with a peel-and-stick adhesive backing. You can remove this insert from the pillow by carefully moving the fabric frame aside and pulling the Velcro insert out.
- Before cutting around your finished 5" x 7" needlepoint canvas, measure it to see if you need to add any more rows to fit the insert.
- Once you're confident you have enough rows stitched around all four edges, peel off the adhesive backing on the Velcro insert, center your canvas, and firmly press it onto the insert.
- Trim around your finished needlepoint canvas so it fits the insert (5.5" x 7.5"). There will likely be some unstitched canvas left showing - don't worry, this will be covered by the fabric edges.
- Position the insert in the center of the pillow and press down to secure the Velcro.
- Gently push the canvas under the edges and fold the fabric edges over the canvas for a clean, polished finish.
The Velcro insert makes it easy to swap out canvases whenever you'd like to refresh your pillow's look. To display a new canvas, simply purchase an additional Velcro insert, available on our website.
